A Franciscan Travel Blessing

I found this prayer at a few blogs today at work as I was searching for a blessing for travelers. I liked it – enjoy! 🙂

May God bless you with discomfort at easy answers,
half truths and superficial relationships
so that you may live deep within your heart.

May God bless you with anger at injustice,
oppression, and exploitation of people,
so that you may wish for justice, freedom, and peace.

May God bless you with enough foolishness
to believe that you can make a difference in this world,
so that you can do what others claim cannot be done.

Amen! 🙂

Blessings & Peace,
Hugo

PS: The post on vegetarians is coming soon – I promise! 🙂

iggy: I don’t have a source for it, except for the blogs that had already posted it (and I didn’t see a source cited on those, either!) – so sorry 🙁

jp: Thank you for your sentiments – without a doubt in my mind he’s been one of the most beloved popes in our Church’s history. We could all do worse than to imitate his love for our God and our Church.

    Blessings & Peace,

    Hey Hugo,

I am sorry for the loss of your Pope. We, as christian, should strive to be like him in the sense that he was a faithful man, faithful to the message and faithful to the Word. He loved others and loved the Lord. That should be commended.

    Hugo,
I really like that prayer… do you have a source for it?
Christians seem to focus on prayering for things to get easier… I have been in arguments with people when I say that one should pray for strength to endure the suffering and count as joy you are suffering… God thinks you can learn something.
    Blessed,
    iggy
